Introduction:

You may no longer need a toolbar or might have installed one accidentally. This tutorial is going to look at how to remove toolbars from firefox.

Step # 1 -- Accessing Add-on Settings in Firefox

Firefox classifies toolbars as a type of "Add-on" to the browser. Therefore to find out how to remove toolbars from firefox you need to click on "Tools" on the main tool bar and then click on "Add-ons".

Step # 2 -- Locating Your Installed Extensions

You will then be presented with the "Add-ons Manager" tab which is where you can add and remove these various items. To remove a toolbar you need to click on the "Extensions" button in the left hand column.

Step # 3 -- Uninstalling the Unwanted Toolbar

You need to know the name of the toolbar you want to remove. In this example we are removing "Amazon Toolbar" which you can see in the top of the list. Right click on this and choose the "Remove" option. Almost instantly the bar will disappear.
Step # 4 -- Restart Firefox to Complete Uninstall

For the process to be complete you will need to restart Firefox. You can do this manually, or better yet, just click on the "Restart now" link that has appeared where the toolbar was previously listed. Firefox will restart and the toolbar will no longer be present.
