In this tutorial you are going to learn how to install fonts in Windows Vista -- this is a very simple process.
Step # 1 -- Downloading the Font
For this tutorial you are going to first have to download the font you want to use. Many free fonts can be found at the website "www.1001freefonts.com" so navigate to this site. Find a font that you want to install, here we are just selecting one from the homepage, and click the "Windows Download" option.
Step # 2 -- Installing the Font
Once the download has completed click the arrow next to the file and click "Show in folder". Right click on the file and extract it (you will need a zip program to perform this action, as you can see here we have Winrar). A new file will appear in the folder and you need to right click on it and click "Install" in the menu that appears. In the dialog box click "Continue". A dialog box will briefly appear and the font will be installed.
Step # 3 -- Testing the Font
Now all that remains for us to do is make sure that the installation was successful. Open any text editing program (here we are using Wordpad) and select a font to use, in the menu you should look through and see the font we just installed. Select this and then enter some text, as you can see here it works, and that is how to install fonts in Windows Vista.
