In this tutorial, you will learn How to Use Voice Control on iPhone in iOS 13.
Voice Control is a new accessibility feature in iOS 13 that lets you speak commands to your iPhone or iPad. In this tutorial, we’ll gloss over how to set it up and general concepts of using it.
Let’s go to Settings - Accessibility - Voice Control.
Tap Set Up Voice Control and then tap continue and you’ll be presented with general controls that you can use.
Tap continue one more time.
Now you can simply turn it on and off whenever you want, by going to Voice Control and turning the Voice Control switch on and off.
Now that you’ve turned on the voice control, try it out for yourself and see how it works. There is a lot of customization offered if you want to tailor it to your needs further. For example, you can change the language, customize Commands, customize command feedback such as showing confirmation, playing sounds and showing hints.
If there are certain commands you don't want to activate you can turn them off in the Voice Control menu.
Go to Customize, select the command you want and you have a few options such as turning it off, turning on confirmation and seeing the phrases that’ll trigger the command.
You can also enable continuous overlay if you find yourself using item numbers or names a lot instead of asking your phone to show name or items every single time.
Finally, you can enable attention aware, which will put your phone to sleep when you’re not looking at it and wake it up when you look at it again.
With the new Voice Control feature, Apple has opened up the door to so many new possibilities.
How do you plan on using handsfree controls? Please let us know in comments.
