In this video, we will show you how to update your Facebook status.

You can publish your thoughts, feelings and any information or updates on Facebook to share with your family and friends. While updating your status, you have complete control of what you want to share and who you want to share it with.

We will be updating the status through this section over here, and show you what kind of data you can share along with your status. Let’s get started.

Click on the “Whats on your mind” field and this will open up the create post pop up window. Over here, you can type in the text you want to post in the status.

Below your name, you will find the audience selector option. This allows you to choose who will see the content that you are about to post. You can choose to make the post public or limit to only friends, specific people in your list and even making the post visible only to you.

Facebook also allows you to post additional content. For example, you can tag people from your friends list in the post. When you tag someone, you create a link to their profile. The post you tag the person in may also be added to that person’s timeline.

You can also add feelings or activities along with your post. Any option you select here, the associated smiley icon will be added on top of the post here.

If you are at any event, you can add the location to your post. Facebook will provide you options to choose from according to your location, or you can even use the search bar here to search for a specific location.

Lastly, if you want to post a live feed, you can select the live feed option here. If you click on the “more” option here, you can see all the other options available to be added to your post for example a GIF animation.

Lastly, Facebook also allows you to add a background to your post. You can only select from the predefined options available here.

Once done, simply click on Post, and the status will be updated on your timeline.
