In this tutorial, you will learn How to Use Zoom.
With the pandemic forcing us all to change our lifestyles, Zoom has been on the radar for many people transition to online studies or work. We’ll give you a little tour on how to use the app.
Download Zoom Cloud Meetings and start it. Sign up and then use those credentials to login.
While the app might seem quite complicated, the general use case is quite easy to get the hang of. On the top you can see icons to create join or schedule a meeting as well as share a screen.
We’ll tap join meeting. For meetings to join to, you’ll need a 10 digit code that’s specific to that meeting. You also have options to disable audio and video. Tap join. If asked tap Call using Internet Audio. From here on, you have similar controls to Skype. You can mute your mic, enable the video camera, see the participants, share content such as files from cloud services as well as tap the triple dot icon to get extra functionality such as chatting, using emojis, adding a virtual background. Meeting settings will also let you control the general meeting rules. You can make it into a closed meeting, allow sharing screens, chatting, renaming and so on.
Muting and toggling cameras are on the top. You can also access safe driving mode by swiping to the right. In this mode your microphone is muted and your video is stopped. If you want to talk, you’ll need to tap the big circle icon then tap again when done. Tap end and choose whether you want to leave the meeting or to end the meeting for everybody all together.
Creating a new meeting is also quite easy. Tap on the icon and tap Start Meeting. Tap participants and tap invite. Here you can copy the invite link or use various other methods to invite people.
Scheduling calls works the same way. Tap on it and input all the info required. Tap Done and you’ll be provided with the link and the calendar input settings. Once you click add, the event will be added to your calendar. Tapping the link in the calendar event will automatically join the meeting on the Zoom app.
There we go! Now you can be a Zoom host or a participant without any second guessing of what you’re doing!
