"Frame rate" is a term describing the measurement of frames per second, i.e. how many images a camera captures in the span of one second. In the early days of cinema frame rates were extremely varied, but when the talkies took over the silver screen, frame rates were regulated to the cinematic standard of 24 fps. We have old school television and the interlaced video formats to thank for the different frame rate options available on our mirrorless and DSLR cameras today. Find out more about this and which frame rate you should use by sticking around to the end of the video.
