While installing a traditional repair kit in a liquid dump valve is often a great option, it can be complicated and time consuming involving many small components. Often these kits are the most cost-effective solution for getting your valve up and running. You can put in key pieces like gaskets, O-rings and seats, get it back together and start production again.
However, sometimes during a repair, you’ll find that other internal parts are damaged that are not part of the repair kit. If the ratio plug or cage has excessive corrosion or erosion; or if the stem is bent or the stem nut has pitting, they’d all need to be replaced, resulting in more time and installations needed.
Mostly, you simply find you just need a quicker method to getting back to production. An easier and faster alternative would be to install one pre-assembled piece.
