This is third in a series about computer networks. This video covers how Ethernet transmits packets of data on a Local Area Network (LAN). The way in which packets are broadcast is illustrated, along with the system known as Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Detention (CSMA/CD), which is used to deal with packet collisions. Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA) as used in wireless Ethernet is also mentioned.
