Nurse reacts to ugly black mole...#shorts

Nurses perform head-to-toe assessments, including skin assessments. When performing a skin assessment on yourself or a patient, you want to look out for any suspicious moles.

The ugly mole in this video is actually melanoma, one of the deadliest forms of skin cancer.

Nurses use the ABCDE rule when assessing for melanoma.

A- Asymmetry (one side of mole is different from the other)
B- Border (border is uneven)
C- Color (look very dark colors and multiple colors)
D- Diameter (larger than 6mm or pencil eraser)
E- Evolves over time (growth, color changes, etc.)

If you, a loved one, or a patient has a suspicious mole that looks like the one in this video, please see a dermatologist immediately to have it properly assessed.
