Learn how to distort test and add 3D perspective to your text using Photoshop's Distort and Perspective transform commands! Normally, Photoshop won't let us transform text with Distort or Perspective. But here, I show you a powerful trick that lets you unlock both commands while keeping your text fully editable!

We start by opening an image in Photoshop to use as a background and adding some text in front of it. Photoshop won't allow us to use the Distort or Perspective commands with Type layers, so we need to convert our Type layer into something else. We look at three options (rasterizing the text, converting the type to a shape, and converting the type to a smart object) and which one will give us the best results.
Once we've unlocked the Distort and Perspective commands, we learn the difference between them and how to use each one to transform our text into different shapes and 3D perspectives.
We then add a couple of effects to the text (changing the blend mode and adding a layer style). And finally, we learn how to edit the text while keeping our Distort or Perspective transform, along with our effects, intact!
