The dissatisfaction stage is characterized by a moderate development level. As members work together for some time, they tend to become dissatisfied with the group. During the dissatisfaction stage, the group needs to work on resolving its structure and process issues before it can progress to the next stage of development.
During the storming stage, the appropriate management style is usually consultative; that is, you as the manager are highly directive and oversee group members’ performance playing the task role. At the same time, you are supportive, including their input, playing the maintenance role.
