In order to use vlookup formula in Excel 2013, we should also understand the difference between the two arguments; exact match and approximate match, or vlookup true or false. Vlookup True or Approximate match which also often replaced by the number 1 means vlookup looks for approximate match and not precise or exact match. In the case of numbers, it looks for the closest lower value, and in the case of text it also returns the value deemed as closest match.
