In the newer versions of Excel, we cannot find the number format which shows negative numbers in brackets. This is a very common issue, as we often want to show negative numbers in brackets instead of the negative sign. Well, the problem is actually with you Windows settings. Type Control Panel in the search bar, and then select "Clock and Region". Then select Region. Then click on Additional Settings, the go to Currency tab, and select the format that shows negative numbers in brackets from the available drop down menu, and you are done.
