Effective teams make decisions by working cooperatively together with mutual trust, commitment, and communication. Low performing or nonproductive teams develop gradually over time and have early indicators of trouble that are not readily detected through observation. The team effectiveness inventory can be scored by either the leader or the team members. Results should be shared and openly discussed to develop immediate solutions for areas causing dissatisfaction. The open discussion of the team scores will do much to bring problems into the open where they can be dealt with by the team.
