In this video, Brian Alderman covers SharePoint permission levels, which allow users in an organization access to various forms of content. He further covers the importance of the inheritance process and how you can break this process down, and he demonstrates different permission levels through the use of login examples.
After watching this video, you will know how to set SharePoint permissions so as to provide your users with proper access to your organization’s content. This content can be anything from an item level within a list or a document within the library all the way through a site collection. Brian demonstrates a typical permission hierarchy and explains how permissions are inherited through this (as well as how they can be set through unique permissions). He does this so that you can better understand how to properly set them for your users. He further explains and demonstrates the differences between Read, Edit and Contribute permissions.
