In this video, Brian Altman covers the evolution of Sharepoint. In addition to historical context and background on why Sharepoint has evolved the way it has, Brian will discuss the new features available in Sharepoint 2016. Admins, in particular, will benefit from understanding the three most significant changes made in the 2016 version.

Sharepoint 2016 involves numerous changes that affect admins and users alike. This video is specifically geared toward those features that will most significantly impact the IT pro world. Brian begins with the evolution of Sharepoint, from Portal Server 2001 through MOSS 2007, and finally onto the three different iterations of Sharepoint delivered in 2010, 2013, and 2016. One of the reasons that this is important is that upgrading to Sharepoint 2016 involves different processes depending on what version you’re currently running. Brian also covers the biggest changes: logical architecture, enhancements to the access services service application, MinRoles, the hybrid approach, and how patching follows an entirely different process.
