In this Excel video tutorial, we gonna learn how to use the Excel Emoji Function or Excel Emoticon Function with a practical example with IF Function.
In this free Excel tutorial, we're going to use a spreadsheet to evaluate students grades and based on the average of the four grades, we're going to use emotions to help us fill in the status.
The status column serves to visually help us to see who had a good grade. Ehich student had a regular, average grade, and which student had a bad grade, below average.
In order to use the emoticons function in Excel, we will need to use the IF function to solve this problem.
If the student's grade is greater than 7, then he got a good grade. Therefore, the emojis face is happy.
If the student's grade is between 5 and 7, then he got a regular grade. So the emojis face is ok.
If the student's grade is less than 5, then he got a bad grade. Therefore, the emojis face is sad.
Thinking about these criteria, we will need to use the if function with 3 conditions in Excel. We can called this if function of nested if function, this is when we use one formula within another formula.
