In this Excel video tutorial, we gonna learn how to make an Interactive Calendar in Excel 2024 with Appointments schedule Agenda. Each appointment date will automatically be highlighted in red. Highlight days in the automatic Excel spreadsheet according to the task schedule. Conditional formatting in Excel helps us highlight, highlight, values in red, green, yellow or any other color. Then, all dates corresponding to a task will be automatically painted to highlight the information in the Excel spreadsheet.
The first thing we are going to do is create the calendar, and to do this, we are going to create a different week in each of the lines starting from week one until week 53. Because the year 2024 has 53 weeks. Now in each of the columns we will create the days of the week in Excel, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The first day of the year in Excel 2024 starts on Monday, which is why we start with Monday.
Now we need to fill each of the cells with the specific date corresponding to the day of the week and the week. The first day will be January 1, 2024 and so that we can create in a simple and practical way and so that we can save time in Excel, we will use the sum formula. Each column will add one more day in relation to the previous cell and the bottom row will add 7 more days in relation to the top date. This way, we were able to have a complete calendar in Excel with all the dates of the year. Now just copy and paste the same formula to all cells in the Excel calendar.
The last step is to create our task calendar, where we can write down each of the tasks we have and the specific date of each task. Each of these tasks will be marked, will be highlighted, on the calendar. Then, all the dates corresponding to any activity that we have, will be automatically highlighted in the Excel spreadsheet in red or green or yellow or any other color you want to use.
We will use conditional formatting to help us highlight the date where we have a specific appointment, but conditional formatting cannot compare one range with another range. You can only compare a cell with a range, so we will need to use help columns or help columns to help us create this solution. We will use the vlookup function and this way we will be able to highlight only the specific dates where we have tasks. So, we will also learn how to use the vlookup function in Excel in practice and step by step to help us in our daily lives and to solve problems using Excel.
