In this Excel video tutorial, we gonna see how to use Checkbox in Google Sheets with Practical Examples such as, check box with Conditional Formatting and check box with count if function (to create a counting system).
the check boxes in Google Sheets are very important because they can help us for example to create a to-do list to do tasks whenever a test is completed we can mark the checkbox and all those blanks check boxes indicates that the tasks are not yet completed.
we can also use a lot of different functionalities of the Google Sheets such as conditional formatting and accounting system to count all the marked checkboxes or checked check boxes and all the blank check boxes.
with the condition of formatting Google Sheets we can highlight those cells that contains a checkbox so let's say every time I check the box is Market we can highlight those cells with a greenish color to show the the tasks assign it to the checkbox are already done
we can also see how to highlight the entire row in Google Sheets whenever a criteria is met, but you can also highlight those cells with different colors the color that you like the most you can highlight a cell with a red color with a yellow color and on and on.
to count things in Excel or to count things in Google Sheets we can use the count function or if you want to count if a criteria is met you can use the count if function or the countif formula to count everything that match the criteria
the interesting thing here is in the checkbox we have either true or false. If the checkbox is marked we're going to have true as result. If the checkbox is blank, we're going to have False as result. Knowing this two different criteria, we can use them whitin the count if function to help us count those checkboxes and that way we're going to know how much tasks are left to do and how much tasks are already done.
