Learn how automatically apply number formatting to the fields in the values area of a pivot table with this free VBA macro. When you drag a field into the Values area, the cells that contain the numbers will automatically be formatted.

Watch part 2 of this video series where I explain how to install the the macro and walk through how it works: https://youtu.be/yvFH_at5Uqw

The number format for the field in the values area will be changed from General to the number format that is used in source data range for the column. If the source data is not formatted, a default number format of your choice will be applied.

The Automatic Number Formatting feature can be turned on/off from the right-click menu in any pivot table. The macros can be installed in your Personal Macro Workbook, and Automatic Number Formatting will be available in any workbook that you open on your computer.
