The Total Row in an Excel Table only adds the sum to the bottom right cell of the table. This video explains two different ways to add the sum to all column in the Total Row of the Table.
If you've tried to copy and paste the SUBTOTAL formula across, you know that you get incorrect results in the formulas. Instead, you have to drag the formulas across or use the AutoSum feature.
