In this Excel formula challenge you will learn how to write a formula to find the first date for each month in a set of data.

The challenge is based on a company’s sales team that has competition to see who can make the first sale of the month. It’s our job to create a report with the list of names for each month’s winner.
So, we must write a formula that returns the name of the sales person to make the first sale of each month. The only criteria is that you cannot sort the Sales Table.
Please leave a comment below or on the blog post page with your formula answer. There are many ways to go about this, so don't worry about your answer being the same as everyone else.
I'll be back next week to share a video that walks through some of the solutions. So please subscribe to my free email newsletter to get notified when that video is available.
