In this video I demonstrate how to make a background picture fill the whole page within a Microsoft Word document. By default you cannot move a picture freely within a Word document and the image is indented from the edge of the page by the document's margins. If you want to ignore the margins and move the image freely, you need to change the wrap options of the image.
To resize the image correctly you need to get the dimensions of your document's page. Once sized correctly it is easy to automatically centre the image horizontally and vertically.
If you have something like a letterhead, you would be better placing the image in the header of the document.
