Battery vs Capacitor | Difference between Battery and Capacitor

Batteries and capacitors seem similar as they both store and release electrical energy. However, there are crucial differences between them that impact their potential applications due to how they function differently.
A true capacitor stores its energy in an electric field (akin to a magnetic field for a magnet). A battery cell stores its energy by creating a chemical that would happily decompose into a more stable chemical.
