autotransformer starter is used to decrease the applied voltage to a motor throughout its beginning. when the big motors are used for a long time in the circuit then a voltage drop may occur so they can lead to damage to the electrical equipment which runs on a similar supply line.
what is autotransformer motor starter
auto transformer starter makes it possible to start squirrel cage induction motors with reduced starting current as the voltage across the motor is reduced during starting. in contrast to the star delta connection only three motor leads and terminals are required.
