BTU meter accurately measures the thermal energy of chilled water consumption in British thermal units (BTU), a basic measure of thermal energy for commercial and residential buildings.

BTU meters are used in chilled water systems for both commercial and industrial and office buildings. They are used to bill users for energy usage.

BTU Meter is therefore an energy calculator, which is used to measure individual energy consumption in any liquid heating/cooling systems based on the following equation:

h = 500*q*Delta t

where

h = total heat removed (Btu/h)

q = water flow rate (gal/min)

dt = temperature difference (oF)
