Vibration is one of the most important and critical parameters to be monitored on the cooling towers. Failing to keep it within the accepted limits could lead to unwanted results which could reach the gearbox/motor damage or even the damage of the whole cooling tower if the structure is weak.

Vibration measurement is an easy process. when done and the result is unsatisfactory then the following should be checked:

1. Motor/gearbox alignment
2. Fan balancing
3. Motor and gearbox bearing conditions
