The PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient ) Thermistor is Used to Help Start the Compressor. This Thermistor is Commonly used in Conjunction with a Start Capacitor. This allows the circuit to be closed and then it opens the circuit once current is drawn through it. I show the testing of resistance and voltage through the Thermistor while powering a load. Supervision is needed by a licensed HVACR Tech while doing this as Experience and Apprenticeship garners Wisdom and Safety.
