I'm Leonardo, and today we'll be learning how to diagnose an Android device's motherboard, specifically focusing on a Samsung A10.
First, we connect the board to a laboratory power supply to check the board's consumption. The needle on the bottom right indicates an initial consumption without even pressing the power button. Upon connecting the battery connector to the power supply, we notice a small consumption.

This device was previously worked on at another service center, and we can see that the voltage control circuit is slightly twisted, with some capacitors misaligned. In this area, we have the inputs and outputs of the main PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit).
After measuring continuity in some components, we find that the line is in short circuit. To determine which side of the short circuit is on, we don't need to lift the circuit. However, since the PMIC is a bit misplaced, we lift it to remove any doubts. We then reposition the capacitor and coil to their natural positions using 400°C and 30% air.
To identify the location of the short circuit, we need to lift a coil from the line that is in short circuit. The short is on the right side, which means it's on the output. In the video description, I've provided some air station recommendations to help you start making money from day one.
We then utilize a thermal camera to see where the short circuit is located. If you have experience, you'll know where these lines typically go. In this case, the short circuit is right under the CPU.
To lift the CPU, we must first remove the resin surrounding it. We can use around 400°C and 80% air for this process. The higher the temperature and air flow, the faster we can remove it.
Upon removing the CPU, we find that the short circuit has disappeared. The problem lies in the joint of the solder balls between the CPU and the motherboard, as well as between the RAM and the CPU.
That's all for today's video. I'm Leonardo, and I'll see you in the next one. Take care!
