In this course, we will demonstrate the repair process for a water-damaged device and outline the necessary steps to save it. Our customer attempted to remove the back cover, resulting in breakage. After analyzing the security stickers, we proceed to remove the screws to access the motherboard, taking care to remove the battery Flex to prevent short circuits.

Upon inspecting the motherboard, we notice a burned part of the shielding, indicating a strong short circuit beneath. We continue by examining the charging module and the solder bolts. With the aid of a microscope, we identify humidity-related damage near the PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit), where inputs and outputs of the voltage are located.

To address the corrosion, we clean the affected area with contact cleaner and cotton. If necessary, we can also use a clean cloth with a metal brush. We then use a multimeter in continuity mode to measure capacitors and inductors, identifying two capacitors in short circuit. Using a precision air station, we remove these capacitors, clean the area, and check the device's functionality.

After reassembling the device, we confirm that it is charging properly with a good charge of 1.6 amperes. By following these steps, we have successfully repaired a water-damaged Xiaomi device. In the video description, you'll find all the tools used in our workshop for your reference.
