Ajaccian (Aghjaccinu)
Native to: Ajaccio (Corsican area)
Language family: Indo European (Toscan & Gallo-italic)
Ajaccian (Aghjaccinu) is the dialect of the Ajaccio area in South of Corsica. This dialect is a mixture of Corsican and Ligurian, very influenced by Provençal and French.
Ajaccio is a seafaring town, so the languages currently spoken in Ajaccio are French, Corsican and Ajaccian.
Ligurian was spoken by the Ajaccian nobility, by famous families like the Napoleon Bonaparte family.
