An English accent and dialect known as Scouse, also referred to as Liverpool English or Merseyside English, is associated with the city of Liverpool and the surrounding Liverpool City Region. The Scouse accent is quite distinct and has little in common with the dialects heard in the rest of England since it was greatly influenced by immigrants from Ireland and Wales who came to Liverpool via the ports as well as Scandinavian sailors who also frequented the docks. The stew that sailors and locals ate that was inspired by Scandinavian lobscouse gave Scouse its name.

If you are interested to see your native language/dialect be featured here.
