Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together. I created this for educational purposes to spread awareness that we are diverse as a planet.

The Serra Amazônica dialect, or as it is sometimes called, thearch of deforestation dialect, is a dialect of Brazilian Portuguese. Known in its geographical region as "accent of migrants";, it is not a cohesive dialect, precisely because of its peculiar origin. Its striking feature is the strong pronunciation of "s";, similar to that of São Paulo, and other peculiarities. It differs from the traditional Amazonian and Northeastern dialect, in that it has pronunciation and vocalization that is closer to the Caipira and Sertanejo dialects. This dialect exists in the southeast of Pará, southwest of Maranhão, north of Mato Grosso, in Rondônia and in the present Tocantins since the mid-1970s when there was a disorderly immigration of Northeastern, Goiás, Southeasterners and Southerners to the region, attracted by the offers of cheap and affordable land in abundance.
