Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together.

Special Thanks to Tochtli T. for Nahuatl and Margareth N. for voicing the Tongva

Nahuatl is a Uto-Aztecan language spoken by about 1.5 million people in Mexico, with Huasteca Nahuatl being the most-spoken variety at over one million speakers. Varieties of Nahuatl often have significant differences, resulting in low or no mutual intelligibility, making them functionally separate languages.

The Tongva language, also Uto-Aztecan, was historically spoken by the Tongva people around modern-day Los Angeles. It has been dormant since the 1940s, with the Gabrielino people now primarily speaking English. However, there are efforts to revive Tongva through its use in daily conversation and ceremonial contexts.

This video is created for educational, language awareness, and language preservation purposes. It aims to provide valuable insights and knowledge to viewers, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of different languages and their unique characteristics. By raising awareness about linguistic diversity, the video seeks to foster a greater respect and recognition for various languages, particularly those that are endangered or underrepresented. Additionally, it contributes to the preservation of languages by documenting and sharing linguistic knowledge, thus ensuring that these languages and their cultural heritage are not lost to future generations.
