Welcome to my channel! This is Andy from I love languages. Let's learn different languages/dialects together.

Puquina is an extinct language once spoken in the Andean region, particularly around Lake Titicaca, belonging to an uncertain language family. It was likely used by the inhabitants of Tiwanaku, an ancient civilization in Bolivia, but remains poorly documented. Puquina's decline coincided with the expansion of the Inca Empire and the arrival of Spanish conquistadors, leading to its eventual extinction. In contrast, the Incas were believed to have spoken a secret language known only to the royal families, lost with the downfall of their empire. While some speculate this language may have been an ancient form of Quechua or Aymara, others, like Peruvian linguist Rodolfo Cerron, propose it could have been Puquina.
