Strategy 1: Effective pauses are at the end of sentences. Make the pause long enough to say the word pause in your head. Just a second pause will do the trick. Keep in mind, concise statements (discussed in lesson 3) are the best way to make you sound confident and clear. Paired with good pauses, you'll have that polished, professional sound that gives your conversations and presentations a rhythm or cadence.

2. Avoid mid-sentence pauses. Lots of people pause in the middle of what they are saying to think. But, this makes everything drag.
