At some point in most group and team discussions, the leader must summarize and clarify what has been said so far in the discussion. It is an important group task role. It may sound easy but it takes lots of practice.

Ideal group leadership skills involve distilling the discussion down to 2-3 key main points and reflect those key points or "buckets" back to the group in a concise and concrete way.

This is a key moment in every team that shows good group communication from the leader. It refocuses the team on something specific that the group can then respond to in a useful and focused way, and believe me, the group wants the leader to do this.
