This can also be used as a general tutorial showing how to replace LED strips. When replacing LED strips, you will have to remove the panel. Removing the panel can be very difficult as the panel is extremely fragile.
If your TV panel is damaged during the replacement process, you will have to get a replacement TV.
I will start by removing the back cover.
Disconnect the two cables from the IR sensor.
Remove the shield over the t-con board.
Disconnect the ribbon cable from the t-con to the panel. Disconnect the cable at the panel.
Disconnect the bezel from the clips and then lift the bezel to remove it.
Remove the screws that hold the panel brackets in place. After you have remove all of the screws, for each bracket, you can remove the bracket.
Gently loosen the scan drive board and then fold it and tape it to the panel.
Using two sheets of plastic, or a few sheets of printer paper, get underneath the panel and lift it from the chassis.
Use and five in one tool and loosen the light filter frame from the clips and then remove it.
Tape the corners together on the light filters to hold them together, before removing them.
Remove the reflector clip.
You can push it from the side of the TV that has the boards on it, and then it will fall out the side that has the LED strips.
Remove the reflector.
Use the five in one tool to get underneath the LED strips, and then remove them from the chassis.
When disconnecting the power connector, on the LED strip, squeeze the two tabs together, and then pull the connection out.
Install the replacement LED strips. Connect the strips to the power cable, and then adhere them to the TV panel.
Reinstall the reflector and reflector clip.
Reinstall the light filters and remove the tape.
Attach the light filter frame.
Put the panel back in place.
Gently remove the tape from the scan drive board, and put it back in place.
Install the panel frame and screws.
Put the speakers back in place.
Connect the ribbon cable to the TV panel.
Install the t-con board shield.
Here is an alternate way to install the bezel.
You can lay the bezel down on the table and then place the TV into place to secure it.
Be sure to go around the bezel and be sure it is secure.
Reconnect the cables to the IR sensor.
Reinstall the back cover and screws.
