In this tutorial, you will learn How to Create a Duotone Effect in Lightroom.
We’re going to use curves to get the duotone look in Lightroom. If you want to do this in Photoshop, make sure to check out our Photoshop tutorial.
Open an image of your choice in the develop module. Open Tone Curve and make sure the curve icon on the bottom right corner of the toolbar is enabled. Now select the red channel and grab the bottom point and drag it around. Then drag the top one and drag it around as well to achieve a duotone effect that you are happy with.
If needed you can also go to Basic and drop down the saturation and play around with the contrast. Of course you can choose between Red Green and Blue and see what colors you like the most for your duotone effect. You can also mix and match these.
This is the quickest way to achieve a duotone effect. It may need some playing around and experimenting but you can achieve great looks in a matter of minutes.
What other Lightroom effects would you like to see? Please let us know in the comments.
