In this tutorial, we will teach you how to group a set of objects or elements in Adobe Illustrator. This is a very simple but important process because it allows us to make illustrator groups and select all of them in a single click rather than having to select each of them individually. In this tutorial you will learn how to group illustrator objects and ungroup them so that each object can be treated individually.
You can fellow the simple steps given below to learn how to group in Illustrator.
Step 1 -- Group all the objects
To group together different objects on the canvas, first let's select all the objects using the selection tool. With that done, simply right-click on the selection and a menu would appear on the screen. Over here, click on the group option. With that done, you can see now that all the objects have been grouped together. You select one and it will automatically select all the objects in the group. This makes moving you artwork much easier.
Step 2 -- Ungroup the objects
We can ungroup by right-clicking on the object and selecting the "ungroup" option. Now all the elements can be treated separately.
Another way to group multiple objects together is by selecting all the objects and pressing the "Ctrl+G" key on the keyboard. This will automatically create a group of the selected objects.
Step 3 -- Moving grouped object
If you want to edit each individual object in the group without having to ungroup all the objects, you can simply pick up the direct selection tool and move them separately.
And that's basically how you can work with the group feature in Adobe Illustrator.
