In this video tutorial we will show you how to use Illustrator Live Paint tool.
In order to use Illustrator Live Paint tool you have to launch the program. Go to the "File" menu and choose "New" to create a new document. In the appeared window set the document properties and press "OK". Go to the toolbar of the program and choose the "Star Tool".
Create the star in the document area while holding the "Shift" key on the keyboard.
Open the "Object" menu, choose the "Live Paint" option and then select the "Gap Options" in the submenu.
In the appeared window choose the "Custom Gaps" from the "Paint stops at" drop-down menu and set the steps. Set the gap preview color in the "Gap Preview Color" drop down menu and press "Set Default".
Go to the "Window" menu and choose the "Swatches" option.
In the appeared window set the colors you want to use. Then choose the "Live Paint Bucket" in the toolbar. Choose the color that you need with "Arrows" keys on the keyboard in the appeared pictogram of the colors. Then set the cursor on the object stroke and click on it to change the color. Then double click on the "Live Paint Bucket" icon.
In the appeared window check the "Paint Fills" box in the "Options" section, then press "OK".
Choose the color that you need with "Arrows" keys on the keyboard in the pictogram of the colors near the cursor and click on the object to apply the selected color.
Go to the "Object" menu, choose "Live Paint" option from the drop down menu, then select the "Expand" option in the submenu to make the object by editable as regular vector- based artwork.
Now the Live Paint tool has been successfully applied to the object in the Adobe Illustrator.
