In this video tutorial we will show you how to draw a ribbon with Adobe Illustrator.

Launch the Adobe Illustrator. Go to the "File" menu and choose "New" option to create a new document. In the appeared window set the document properties and press "OK". Choose the "Rectangle Tool" from the program toolbar and draw the rectangle in the document area.

Switch onto the "Stroke" icon from the toolbar and click on the "None" icon under the palettes to remove the object stroke. Click on the "Fill" icon and open the "Color Picker". In the appeared color picker window select the color and press "OK". Then switch onto the "Selection Tool", select the object and press the "Ctrl+C" keyboard shortcut to copy the selected object into the clipboard. Then insert it into the same place with "Ctrl+F" keyboard shortcut. Resize the inserted object as you need to. Select the "Pen Tool" from the toolbar and create the new point on the object border. Move the created point with "Right Arrow" key. Select the transformed object and move it into the place you need with "Arrows" keys on the keyboard. Copy this object to the clipboard with keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+C". Then insert it in the same place with keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+F".

Right click on the duplicated object, choose the "Transform" option from the drop-down menu and select the "Reflect" option from the submenu.

In the appeared window select the "Horizontal" option in the "Axis" section.

Set the angle of reflection and press "OK". Move the reflected object to the right edge of the rectangle. Select both objects at the edges of the rectangle and group them with keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+G". Select the rectangle, go to the "Align Panel" and align the objects to the vertical center.

Then right click on the objects group, choose the "Arrange" option from the drop-down menu and select the "Send to Back" option from the submenu.

Deselect the objects group. Choose the "Pen Tool" in the toolbar and create the triangle near the left object. Click on the "Fill" icon and open the "Color Picker". Select the color and press "OK". Create the same triangle near the right object with "Pen Tool". Then select all objects with "Selection Tool" while holding the left mouse button and moving the mouse.

Go to the "Object" menu, choose the "Envelope Distort" option from the drop-down menu and select the "Make with Warp" option from the submenu.

In the appeared window select the style that you need from the drop-down menu and press "OK". As you can see, the ribbon has been successfully created with the Adobe Illustrator tools.
