In this tutorial, you will learn how to change the background in Photoshop.

We’ve discussed various selection tools and approaches to separating your foreground from the background before. In this tutorial we’ll take a different approach and use the Object Selection tool in Photoshop.

Object Selection tool can be found right under the lasso tool. Once you select it you have a few options. The quickest way is to click Select Subject on the top and Photoshop will try to figure out what the subject in the photo is and separate it from the background.

If that doesn’t work, instead you can click and drag with the tool over the area where the subject is. This is by default done with the rectangle selection, however you can switch it to lasso.

With introductions of more and more AI into Photoshop, this tool might actually end up saving you a lot of hassle to try and separate the foreground from the background. All you need to do is add the new background and tweak it to your liking.
