In this tutorial, you will learn How to Create 3D Instagram Photo Frame Effect.

We’re going for an effect where the subject of your image goes beyond the regular Instagram photo dimensions and onto the Instagram interface to create this eye-catching 3D effect. In this tutorial, we’ll cover general techniques to achieve this effect.

To begin, we’ll need a few assets: image of your subject with the background already separated, a screenshot from Instagram that’s using your username, etc. for maximal personalization and a background that’ll be behind our main subject.

️ First, bring in the screenshot from Instagram.
️ We’re looking for a screenshot that includes additional Instagram interface elements.
️ Let’s remove the actual photo from within the screen shot.
Now bring in subject that you want.
️ Add a background to the image that fits within the photo dimensions on the screenshot.
️ Try to not go overboard with how much of your subject is coming out of the dimensions. A little goes a long way!

️ Next, we’ll create a new layer and paint the shadow underneath the part of the subject that’s coming out of the dimensions.
️ What we like to do is, have a shadow that goes over the Instagram interface but not over the background, to make things pop even more!

This is a very simple, yet very effective way to grab attention! All it takes is some experimenting and foresight as to what photos to use to make it look eye-catching!
