In this tutorial, you will learn how to set white balance in Photoshop.
When you take photos, your camera tries to best calculate the lighting circumstances and adjust the colors in a way that everything looks real. Cameras, however, can be wrong and that’s why you may want to fix the white balance manually. To adjust the white balance, you’ll have to adjust two things: temperature and tint.
️ In Photoshop, click Filters and choose Camera Raw Settings.
️ Now on the right side, under White Balance, choose auto and see if Photoshop guesses the white balance correctly, if no choose Custom.
️ Adjust the two sliders left or right depending on the colors that your image has.
For example: If your photo came out too orange, move the Temperature slider to the left to compensate it with the blue color. Similarly, if your image came out too greenish, move the Tint slider to the right to add more magenta.
️ When done, click OK!
A photo with lack of white balance can quickly decrease the overall perceived value and quality of a photo, however, fixing it manually is a matter of only few minutes!
How often, do you need to adjust white balance in your photos? Please let us know in comments.
