This video covers how to train your dog using positive reinforcement, to leave other dogs alone when they are eating chews and playing with toys. The key is reinforcing them for the default leave it in set up training sessions, rather than trying to train “in the moment” when the dog is already doing the unwanted behavior. So a great training plan consists of teaching the dog what you do want him to do and reinforcing him for it, using management and prevention in between training and if the unwanted behavior happens interrupt it and redirect the dog to the behavior you do want him to do, but if the unwanted behavior keeps happening frequently it means that you need to rethink your training plan.

If you have a dog who is unpredictable, guards food or you just have never worked with food or toys with your dogs, you should get a positive reinforcement trainer to help you with this exercise, as well as play it safe and have the dogs on a leash and harness out of reach from each other, in a crate or behind a safe barrier from each other to begin with.
