Help for dogs who are too excited by food or toys

This video goes over ideas for lowering your dog’s arousal for food and toys so that you are able to use them in training without them causing your dog to become over-aroused or overly stressed. The first tutorial is on the topic of teaching a calm marker word that predicts a calm reinforcement delivery. I suggest if your dog is excited by toys to first train the calm marker with food for at least 12 training sessions before then using the marker with toys.
