This video tutorial goes over how to train an attention noise to a puppy as well as an adult dog. After training the attention noise can be used to ask your dog for attention but also to interrupt behaviors you don’t like. When your dog is doing something you don’t like, for example chewing on a shoe, you can use the attention noise to get your dog’s attention and then show him what he should be chewing on, his own dog bones.

If you just got a new puppy or adult dog I suggest first playing the "Attention Game" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiziN7mluz8 To get the ball rolling for this exercise that is a little harder.

This behavior is also known as watch me, focus, the attention noise, and the positive interrupter.
