Proofing Wish's head position for heelwork to music. I learned to focus on one aspect of heelwork at a time from two awesome trainers - Brigitte van Gestel and Anja Christiansen I'm also focusing on the perfect level of arousal without frustration which is extremely important to me. Wish is a good example of how you can have flashy speed and precision without over arousal or frustration. Signs of over arousal and frustration include abnormal breathing, whining, barking, growling, showing the teeth, showing the teeth, chattering the teeth, moving the head around... and some dogs... biting at the handlers leg.

In this video I am doing a very simple trick that I use- teaching the dog to focus on the toy that will be the reinforcer, without frustration or over excitement... When that is possible, I then ask for focus in the behavior that will earn the same toy. If your dog starts to get over aroused and frustrated stop, and break the steps up smaller to reduce the risk of the problem being more likely to happen in the future.
