Understanding how your competitors get backlinks is an extremely important skill to have because if you understand how a page earns its links, you’ll be able to replicate that link profile.

First, we need to find a competing page to analyze. A good place to start looking for competitors are the top 10 ranking pages for your target query.

Watch the video to learn how to do this and find good link profiles worth investigating.

When we’ve got a potential competing page to analyze, we need to understand the context of those backlinks. What are these referring pages about and why are they linked to this target?

You’ll learn how to do this in the video.

Now, because we know that content and links are inseparable, we need to figure out which parts of the content are attributable to the backlinks. So we’ll look for what we call “linkable points.”

Watch the video to learn more about it.
